BOB STP seeks Independent Chair
Health and social care organisations across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and West Berkshire (BOB) have developed an ambitious plan to improve the health and wellbeing of our 1.8 million local population across the three localities with a particular focus on preventing ill health, collaborating to improve efficiency and optimise capacity, enhancing cancer treatment and care, providing digital solutions for self-care, improving our workforce offer and developing a strategic investment programme to enhance the health and care environment.
Our vision is to achieve the ‘triple aim’ set out in the Next Steps On The Five Year Forward View and close the health and well-being, care, quality and financial gaps across the BOB STP area. To do this we are aiming to work closely and collaboratively with partners across the STP and beyond to commission and provide health and care services that deliver benefits that cannot be achieved by one organisation or system acting alone and support further development of the two first-wave shadow Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) in Buckinghamshire and Berkshire West and enable the transition of Oxfordshire into an integrated health and care delivery system by sharing learning from the ICS’s in Buckinghamshire and Berkshire West.
To help us on this next stage of the journey, we are looking for an Independent Chair who can provide non-executive and independent leadership to our STP: a senior individual who can hold our partner organisations to account to achieve system-wide objectives and for ensuring that there is a clear plan for the implementation of the BOB strategy. The ideal candidate will have substantial board-level experience, personal credibility within their own profession and will be familiar with developing partnerships across large and complex organisations. You will have presence and the requisite interpersonal skills to carry out the role successfully, building and enhancing relationships within the STP, in the BOB STP community and with a wide range of stakeholders, including politicians and the wider public sector, locally and nationally.
Closing date: 6 May 2019
Time commitment: 1 day per week
Remuneration: c.£350 per day
